Even as a child, horses were Nancys' first passion in life. She began riding as an eight year old, and quickly climbed the Equitation ranks during her junior years to the USEF Medal, Maclay and USET Classes. At the young age of fifteen, she began to "catch ride" horses for other owners, showing not only in the Junior Hunter and Jumper Divisions, but also competing against professionals in the Green Hunter and Open Jumper Classes. As a sixteen year old, Nancy created and taught a curriculum for the summer camp at Glastonbury Equestrian Center in Connecticut, where she discovered her love of teaching. Her classical training started with notables such as Martha Gale Chenelle and Paul Vallier; this training was further cemented by riding with George Morris.

Upon graduating from high school, Nancy attended Centenary College in New Jersey and continued to ride. She earned a degree in Equine Science. During this time she was more formally introduced to dressage by both Michael Godfrey, who was an alternate for the US Olympic Team, and Jane Richards, an "R" Judge for 3-day eventing. Located in such proximity to the US Equestrian Team, Nancy was able to develop her horsemanship skills further by regularly participating in clinics given by many other prestigious trainers; Anne Kursinski, Peter Leone, Victor Hugo-Vidal and Joe Fargis to name a few.  Ultimately decided to reside and train in the area for the following 22 years.

After college graduation, Nancy competed heavily on the "A" circuit from Florida to New York State and Canada in the Hunters and Jumpers through Grand Prix, riding mostly young imported horses. She also continued to fulfill her desire to teach by building a team of show riders, with clients of all ages and talents, ranging from the Short Stirrup and Pony Hunters to the Equitation Classes and Amateur Owners.

After the birth of her second child, Nancy decided to devote most of her time to her growing family. She chose to focus more on teaching and riding locally, and ultimately led another group of riders to success on the New Jersey Circuit.

Nancy also conducts clinics nationwide. She has been commissioned to give clinics from Alaska, East to West coasts and inbetween. Her immediate impact on students is evident, as one rider expressed at the end of a clinic, "you didn't just teach us how to ride, you showed us how to think and allow our horses to think."

In 2006, Nancy and her family relocated to the Temecula, CA. Nancy had great success in a short 4 years starting and building NLT. Creating a solid reputation in the Greater San Diego & Inland Empire Horse Show Circuits with Junior, Adult and young professional riders. Her talented Asst. Kate McComas ultimately took over the training business in Southern California, for Nancy to make her final move to Duncan, Oklahoma.

Now, with her children grown and successfully in college, she and her husband Ken are excited to build a facility on their new 45 Ac. property and continue NLT in Oklahoma.
